Planning your Basant 2027 budget? This page covers the expected price ranges for kites (Patang and Gudda), approved dor, QR Code Pinna and accessories in Lahore during Basant 2027. All prices are based on Lahore kite market data and typical Basant seasonal pricing. Note: Only two kite types are legally permitted under the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Ordinance 2025 — Patang and Gudda. Charkhi and all chemical or sharp dor are banned.
⚠️ IMPORTANT — BUY FROM REGISTERED VENDORS ONLY
Under the Punjab Kite Flying Ordinance 2025, dor must be purchased only from vendors registered with the DC Office Lahore. Each legal dor Pinna carries a QR code. Buying unregistered kite string puts you and others at serious safety and legal risk.

❓ Kite Price FAQs — Basant 2027
Q: Why are Basant kite prices higher than off-season?
Basant season brings a massive surge in demand for kites and dor — all concentrated into just three days. Registered suppliers face higher compliance costs (QR codes, registration fees) and the short sales window justifies premium pricing.
Q: Can I buy kites online for Basant 2027?
Online kite purchases are possible but you must verify that the seller is DC-registered and that the dor comes with a QR Code Pinna. Be cautious of online sellers who cannot provide evidence of registration.
Q: Will prices be different in Old City vs DHA?
Yes. Old City (Androon Lahore) tends to have better prices due to direct manufacturer access. DHA and Bahria Town sellers typically charge a premium for convenience. For best prices, visit the Old City kite markets early on 12 March before stock depletes.
Q: Is it cheaper to buy kites before Basant season?
Under the Punjab Ordinance, selling kites before 12 March 2027 is illegal for registered vendors during the restricted period. You should not be buying kites before the Basant window — any seller offering kites before 12 March is operating outside the law.
