The best way to see Lahore during Basant 2027 (29 January to 7 February) is sightseeing in the morning and kite flying from early afternoon. With one day, walk the Walled City and spend the afternoon on a rooftop. With two days, add the Mall, Lahore Museum and Anarkali. With three days, add Shalimar Gardens and the Wagah Border ceremony.

Kite flying hours for 2027 will be set in the district notification. In 2026 flying was allowed during set daytime hours only.
5 February 2027 (Kashmir Day) is a public holiday and a no-flying day: use it for sightseeing or Wagah.
Weekends (30 to 31 January, 6 to 7 February) are the busiest. Book rooftops, hotels and restaurants early.
Winter mornings can be foggy. Start sightseeing around 9 AM.

Getting around
The Orange Line runs from Ali Town to Dera Gujran past the Walled City edge and Shalimar Gardens; Metro Bus runs along Ferozepur Road. Both were free during Basant 2026. Ride hailing is easiest for Wagah and late nights. More in our transport guide.

Can I see Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque in one morning?
Yes. They face each other; allow three to four hours for both.
Is Wagah worth it during Basant?
Yes, if you can spare one afternoon. Go on a weekday or on 5 February, when there is no flying.
