Shopping in Lahore: Where to Go and What to Buy (Basant 2027)

Lahore is one of Pakistan’s best shopping cities. For Basant 2027 visitors, the key stops are the licensed kite markets (Mochi Gate, Mozang, Liberty, Baghbanpura and Shahdara in 2026), Anarkali and Liberty Market for clothes and khussas, Ichhra and Shah Alami for bargains, and malls like Emporium and Packages for brands.

Buying kites and dor legally

In 2026, more than 2,200 traders were licensed to sell kites in Lahore, with crowds at the markets in Mochi Gate, Mozang, Liberty, Baghbanpura and Shahdara. Stock ran short and prices were above normal, so shop early in the legal sales window.

  • Buy only from registered sellers; every legal kite and pinna carries a QR code.
  • Legal kites: Patang up to 35 x 30 inches, Gudda up to 40 x 34 inches.
  • Cotton dor only, wound on a pinna. Charkhi, nylon, glass or chemical coated string is banned.
  • Kite sales are only allowed in the notified window; in 2026 they ran from 1 to 8 February.
