Basant 2027 Traffic Plan: Safety Rods for 2.3 Million Bikes, Red Zones Announced
Lahore, 13 October 2026. Lahore Traffic Police have set out the first part of the Basant 2027 traffic plan. Safety rods will be fitted to about 2.3 million motorcycles at 100 camps across the city, starting 1 January 2027, after an awareness campaign from 1 November 2026. Bikes without rods will not be allowed into Lahore during Basant, both riders must wear helmets, and motorcycles and Qingqi rickshaws will be barred from red zones.
